Elders project

Leeds Children’s Circus are committed to helping people realise their creative potential through the art of circus.

Whilst our work to date has been mainly targeted at children and adults, our new community project aims to bring the world of circus to the elder generation.

We have teamed up with Westward Care to offer care home residents engaging circus workshops. It has been proven that regular physical activity in later life can help fight chronic disease and improve physical and mental capacity. Our workshops are tailored towards those with limited mobility meaning the residents can remain seated while participating in activities.

Classes are working to increase movement, improve balance and flexibility and encourage social interaction amongst participants in order to give them a happier and healthier lifestyle.
